“Create each day anew by clothing yourself with heaven and earth, bathing yourself with wisdom and love, and placing yourself in the heart of Mother Nature.”
— Morihei Ueshiba
The Wizard’s Reflection
The riddle of will is one of the great and unavoidable mysteries we are both faced with and made of. As we inquire further into the mysteries of the will, we find numerous facets of the crystal of self-creation that both baffle and bemuse. On a very mundane level, our perspective shapes how we respond to life, so by choosing it, we also shape life. Our beliefs and actions, and our ability to choose them, remind us that we are co-creating ourselves and our world.
Accepting the responsibility for how we see things is a starting point for reclaiming ourselves as our own creation and the beginning of the end of our indoctrination into victim mentality and defeatism. This initiation is not for the faint of heart nor the idealistic. It requires both unbending intent and radical flexibility to adjust with the arising of experience. It is not something we tick a box next to and finish. It is a commitment to a ceaseless process for the rest of our lives.
